Damaged Ends
Healthy Ends

On your road to healthier beautiful hair, there is one thing that we cannot forget and that is trimming. Trimming your hair is a great way to reduce and eliminate split ends. Your hair also gets the benefits of looking nicer and feeling thicker. In addition you stop the split ends from splitting further up the hair shaft. If you have very dry, frizzy, damaged, thin ends this is a way to solve that problem.

Not Seeing Length
A lot of women say their hair is not growing, that they are not seeing any new length. If you see new growth every 2 or 3 months, and you need to get a relaxer that means your hair is growing. The problem is your not keeping the length while your hair is growing. Your ends are probably breaking as fast as your roots are growing out. That's because you need to retain your ends to see progress. Trimming is a great way to maintain healthy ends. As you continue this routine you will start noticing your hair growing longer and longer.

Beware of Scissor Happy Stylist

These are stylist that think cutting off 3 or 4 inches of your hair is best. This is not true, your hair can become healthy without cutting off that much. If your ends are really damaged I suggest cutting a little at a time every 2 or 3 months. You can start off with getting maybe a 3/4 to 1 inch trim every eight weeks and gradually get down to 1/2 inch once you've gotten rid of most of the damage. Working at the ends little by little can result in you retaining length and healthier hair.

If you decide to trim your hair your self, make sure you have a professional pair of scissors.
